Description
The
Marantz LN-11S1 is a motorized anamorphic lens system designed for Marantz projectors.
- Type: It is a motorized lens system with a sled, which moves the lens in and out of the projector’s light path for different aspect ratios, a feature that allowed for automation with trigger inputs.
- Optics: The lens system featured custom optics from Konica Minolta.
- Compatibility: It is primarily intended for use with the Marantz VP-11S1, VP-11S2, and VP-15S1 projectors, and a custom mount was included for these models. It was also designed to work with other brands of projectors that incorporated vertical stretch technology.
- Function: Anamorphic lenses like the LN-11S1 optically “squeeze” the image horizontally during projection, which is then electronically “de-squeezed” by the projector’s video processor to fill a wide screen, creating the classic cinematic widescreen effect with horizontal lens flares and oval bokeh.
