The 506 speakers are of dipolar design to provide the realistic sense of space and atmosphere essential for a convincing performance. A driver complement of two 1“ tweeters and two 5“ mid/bass units per dipole again ensure sonic consistency throughout the system. One of each drive unit is mounted in the opposing faces of the dipole and they are phase inverted in true dipolar configuration to produce a full surround sound effect, while at the same time maintaining left and right channel separation. Drive units are isolated by use of a multiple enclosure cabinet.
